Genetics is one of the cornerstones at CAMPO LONGLEY. Not only do we focus on productivity (+ milk volume + solids), but we also use genetic progress to reduce the impact of our business on the environment.

A 100% of our dairy heifers are inseminated with sexed semen, thus decreasing the rebreeding of males with no purpose in a herd. It is a decision that implies higher costs. But we understand it is a way to contribute to a more environmentally friendly production.

Another critical aspect of the genetic approach is achieving disease prevention, potentiating lactation, and achieving animals with better body conditions (udders, legs, hair).

We work with different semen importers that help us diversify our cattle and work with the best material options in the world.
