UK in Uruguay

UK in Uruguay

Still about the Prado… following an initiative by the UKinUruguay – Embajada Británica en Montevideo and Longley Heritage, we created the ✨Secret Garden”✨ Inspired by the classic novel of English children’s literature “The Secret Garden”, the space was all made up of products from national entrepreneurs who promote the ♻️circular economy♻️.

It was a relaxing and a lot of work spot. An honor to have participated in this initiative and a joy to have been able to receive so many people in such special place.

Expo Prado 2022 ending

Expo Prado ending

The 117th Expo Prado ended on Sunday and it was historic. Not only because of the success of the capacity of the public and participating companies, because of so much participation from different embassies. But, also because of the participation of Longley Heritage, holding company of Campo Longley, which for the first time was able to share a bit of its history and business in different countries of the world.

Our stand was in the British Pavilion and we were filled with joy by all the messages, photos and visits we received from our collaborators, service providers and members of the different commercial alliances with which we have a relationship. Beyond all those people, we were pleased to be in contact with the great Uruguayan public that came to the stand with whom we shared a little information about us.

Many thanks to all who accompanied us.

Falklands Islands visitors

Falklands Islands visitors

After a moment of reflection that we have taken since the sad news of the death of our Queen, we are back to our networks to share with everyone some activities that we have had the pleasure of having in the last few days.
On the 8th of September we received 10 agricultural producers from the Falkland Islands interested in knowing more about our organic practices, our certification in animal welfare and our grass fed.

It was a lovely morning with them and our beautiful jerseys.

From Longley Heritage Group we want to reaffirm our commitment to our community.
From the alliance with Helpers Plus 800 citizens of Progreso are being trained in first aid. At the end of this project, we will be the largest cardioprotected city in Uruguay.

Thank you David D. for that contribution to the community. Thank you Progreso for joining us on this very important journey.

Agroleite Exposition

Agroleite Exposition

We were at the #Agroleite 2022!!! 🇧🇷
We are very happy with the opportunity to have been in one of the most important exhibitions of dairy products in Latin America! Sabina Clara Gleicher, in charge of the dairy farm, Angel Lezcano, the production manager and Mauro Torterolo, our veterinarian, were at the exhibition.

Thank you very much David D. for encouraging and supporting this type of initiative. The opportunity to see up close the dynamics of one of the biggest dairy powerhouses in the world is priceless for each of us as professionals!

UTEC student visit

Last week, Dianela Rabino our secretary received Facundo Berger, Technologist student of milk production system management at UTEC – Universidad Tecnológica. Facundo contacted us to come and see our facilities, processes and routines. They spent an afternoon together where they exchanged a lot.

Young people like Facundo are essential for the future of our dairy. It fills us with pride to be able to contribute to these young people.

For more Facundos!

Last week we received for the fourth day in our establishment the group of 22 second-year agricultural high school students from the UTU – Dirección General de Educación Técnico – Profesional from the Presidente Tomás Berreta Viticulture School, accompanied by their teachers, Nefi Echevarría and Marian Lancidad. In this instance, the group spent the whole afternoon with our Agricultural Engineer, Ximena Carrau, who prepared material especially for the group.

Ximena shared everything about the role of agriculture in a pastoral dairy farm, the diet of the cows, the rotation and everything that supports a #grassfed system.

Participation in the Sustainable Farm event

Participation in the Sustainable Farm event

In 2021, at Topilen S.A. – Campo Longley, we made a significant investment in the road for our cows. With the aim of continuing to improve the focus on well-being of our Jerseys. With the technical assistance of CONAPROLE through the “Sustainable Dairy Farm” Program, a survey was carried out, the existing infrastructure was analyzed, and a wide range of customized solutions were designed. As a result of this excellent experience, we participated in another infrastructure project that “Sustainable Farm” also offers: Energy Efficiency, which generated a report that we are pleased to share that there were NO recommendations for electrical changes in our facilities. In 2022 we started with the third project, which we are in the last adjustments to improve the management of effluents from our establishment.

And with great joy last Monday we were invited to participate in the closing event of the Sustainable Dairy Project. Many thanks to all the excellent professionals involved in the Project!
