Tyers Hall Farm

Tyers Hall Farm is another of Longley Heritage Group’s livestock properties. They have assumed the leadership position on the east side of Barnsley in South Yorkshire, United Kingdom, in different initiatives for a sustainable development of the business unit.

Visit from LSQA Dejamos Huella

Visit from LSQA Dejamos Huella

Today we received Carolina Lasa, auditor of LSQA Dejamos Huella for the certification of the use of the Country Brand “Uruguay” managed together with Uruguay XXI. Focusing on good business management practices, the Uruguay Country Brand seeks to evaluate the added value of national companies and ensure their continuous improvement. The survey of the certificate is based on 4 dimensions:

▶️ Leadership and Management
▶️ Sustainability
▶️ Origin
▶️ Export Capacity

We are happy to start the process and be able to join the group of Uruguayan companies that promote the country and distinguish itself in its different fields. And happier for the opportunity to do that as from a dairy farm to be able to contribute to such a strategic industry to the world.

Mercoláctea - Students visit - Global Visit from Dairy Farmers President

We had a very busy week here…

For the second consecutive year, we began to receive the students of the agricultural bachelor’s degree, who are studying dairy in their second year of the degree, from the UTU – General Directorate of Technical-Professional Education, from the President Tomás Berreta Viticulture School, accompanied by their teacher, Nefi Echevarría.

We also went to honor and learn at MERCOLACTEA Inforcampo Exposiciones S.A. Where we had the opportunity to listen to incredible live conferences from great references: Walter Baethgen, Gustavo Schuenemann, Francisco Peñagaricano, Alejo Menchaca and Guillermo Brogliatti

We received at the farm Ad van Velde, President of Global Dairy Farmers for a visit along with Stella Maris Huertas Canén.

A busy and extremely productive week!

🌱 Environment (biodiversity, soil, water, forests, air)
👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 Society (employees, customers and communities)
💲Economy (profitability and business growth)

The focus of the training was:
✅Safe use of agrochemicals
✅Regulation of the machine
✅Safety at work
✅Solid waste management
✅Management and care of soil and water
✅Biodiversity

Topics that transcend dairy but are so present in our routine.
Thank you very much Yoana D. Florencia P. and Diego Rodriguez!

Jersey selling

Jersey selling

Last week, in the midst of visits and our routine, 1️⃣0️⃣ pregnant heifers were sold. In addition to being very happy to continue to disseminate the #jersey breed and our genetics in Uruguay, this selling has two more details that make us VERY proud:
1️⃣ the buyer is the same producer as last year;
2️⃣ the lot we had for sale had already calved and even so, the producer was interested in taking a lot of heifer pregnated by one of our bulls.

Why is this so important? Because even though they are not pregnant with sexed semen, which increases the chances of being born female, valuing the acquisition, the producer wanted these ones. Besides, being naturally pregnant with our bull is a double demonstration of the confidence in our genetics.

It’s a lot of happiness in a single shipment🥳🎉

King Charles III and Queen Camila coronation

As part of a private English group, at Campo Longley we share in the celebrations for this expression of the history, culture, and traditions of the United Kingdom.

We had the honor of sharing this celebration by sharing a commemorative gift with our people and participating in the coronation event at the British Embassy in Montevideo.

Our most sincere greetings to the new king from the friendly country Uruguay.

Sustainability and animal welfare certificate visit

Sustainability and animal welfare

Uruguay is a country that has a differentiated agenda in terms of sustainability and animal welfare. Currently, end consumers are increasingly interested in knowing where the products they consume come from and under what conditions the food that reaches their tables was produced.

That is why Campo Longley Uruguay has opted to be certified in Animal Welfare with a national certifier.
