Last friday we received a visit from American ranchers to our establishment. Interested in the dairy production model in Uruguay, especially in hashtag#jersey cows, Enrique Crotto from U.S. Livestock Genetics Export, Inc. Luis Enrique Santana from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, Kurt and Christina from Hallstrand Angus (Wisconsin) were received by Mauro Torterolo, our veterinarian and Sabina Clara Gleicher. They visited the establishment and exchanged very interesting information about production.

We greatly value these opportunities to exchange with different hashtag#agribusiness producers!

David D. is the third generation in the business and follows in the innovative and pioneering footsteps of his father and grandfather.

With Richmond Dairies & Longley Farm

This week a small lot of freshly calved heifers went to an esteemed neighbor. In addition to celebrating this business as a way of recognition to our outstanding genetics, we are pleased to contribute to increase quality to other dairy farmers.
The heifers went to the field of a neighbor who, in addition to being highly esteemed, lives his dairy with extreme passion.

Our sister company Richmond Dairies will be presenting their solutions for those looking to enter new markets commercially. We are delighted to be able to support this initiative from Uruguay.

Proper care of dairy waste not only protects the environment and animal health, but also contributes to the production of high-quality milk, regulatory compliance, and the long-term sustainability of dairy operations.

At hashtag#CampoLongley this concern goes through different processes in our production system. One of them is the manipulation of containers.

Thanks to the hashtag#CampoLimpio Civil Association, we comply with the required protocol and regularly take this waste to the Melilla collection center, close to our establishment.

It is an activity incorporated into our routine and of which we are aware of its importance.

Yesterday we received the auditors for the renewal of our certification in animal welfare. In addition to the records, the experts made the following assessments:

✅ Adequate food: evaluation of food conditions, including access to water and adequate food.
✅ Adequate Housing: Assessment of the facilities, space, cleanliness and environmental comfort.
✅ Good Health: Evaluation of health conditions.
✅ Appropriate Behavior: Evaluation of animal behavior.

Preliminary feedback was very positive🔝 But, we are waiting for the full report that will arrive in a few days.

We start August with many activities. A bit about our busy last few weeks:

▶️ PREVENIRUY, with which we are working for two years, provided a training session on “Pasteurization of raw milk and its derivatives”, a very important topic to explore in a dairy farm;

▶️ We welcomed the student María Pía Briñón Ghione from Fagro Udelar From August to December she will be visiting and monitoring the forage bases of the grazing area as information for her final thesis.

▶️ We welcome the second-year students of the agricultural degree of the UTU – Dirección General de Educación Técnico – Profesional Presidente Tomás Berreta Viticulture School. During this visit, the students had the opportunity to hear from Gastón Ortega, in charge of the CRS dairy farm and PhD student at the same institution.

▶️ We received again the students of the Occupational Health Technologist career of the School of Medical Technology, who are carrying out the final monograph. This year they attended individual interviews with our team members.

It is true that receiving students is an extra activity 💪🏻 It is also true that adding this activity to the complex routine of a milking farm requires the collaboration of many 💪🏻💪🏻 But, it is also true that contributing to the future can only be done in the present 🌱
We are proud of our contribution to the future of the dairy industry

On July, 29th we had a nice celebration with the Topilen S.A. – Campo Longley Uruguay team for the 75 years of Longley Farm. A nice dinner with family members in one of the main establishments of our neighbors, Bodega Familia Deicas. The menu was specially designed for us by the chef Mercedes Deicas. We took a tour of the establishment’s historic cava and tasted some of the world-renowned wines. It was very nice to have shared such an important date with our parent company and, at the same time, bring us even closer to our community.

As part of our celebrations for the 75 years of Longley Farm, we came across with the beautiful project of the Organization Banco de Alimentos Uruguay that seeks to guarantee a daily glass of milk for a child 🥛
We are very happy to be able to support an initiative so meaningful to us and to our community!
